Born in 1999 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Liza Kvantaliani is a painter whose practice moves between conscious and unconscious impulses, tracing the subtle exchanges between inner emotion and external form.
Working primarily with painting, she constructs spatial compositions through figures, colors, and forms that unfold into autonomous dimensions. Within these spaces, viewers are invited to navigate their own psychological landscapes — where perception becomes both subject and terrain.
Rooted in the notion of residue, Kvantaliani’s work explores traces of human presence across natural and urban environments. Through her practice she examines how these remnants interact with the body and the surrounding space, reflecting on the intricate relationship between landscape and identity. By shaping emotions, behaviors, and social connections, she builds a visual language that is both introspective and spatial.
